I am currently living in Berlin, Germany and i am a huge 3D printer fan. I think it takes too much time to build a print right now but that the precision, accuracy and speed will increase by time and that in the near future everybody will own a 3D printer.
The 3D modeling is also a lot of fun. I am still in the process of learning to use blender but it is getting easier and easier. Hopefully soon I can reduce the number of black boxes 🙂
Favorite Print
I created different prints but I think the most fun I had creating the new bag holder. The original design was already amazing and it was therefore difficult to make many changes to it.
The first print was already claimed by a friend within minutes and it was nice to know that it was considered helpful.
Favorite Filament
The original makerbot filaments, great quality and nice colors. I really like the glow in the dark.
I saw they have a new elastic filament which can be heated and reformed but I have not had a chance to test it yet.
Favorite Printer
There are so many different 3D printers available and it is difficult to make a choice. The best value for the price is given by the Pirx printer in my opinion.
The disadvantage is the software, it is not as plug and play and it takes a little longer than the makerbot but the price difference is huge.
If you have a little extra money to spare and you want a fast solution, than the makerbot is a better choice but overall both printers are amazing. You can’t really go wrong with a 3D printer in general.
